Mr. and Mrs. Mirko Konecny were the first Czechoslovakians to settle in Rawdon around 1958. They took up residence in the Domaine Pontbriand. A dozen families joined them a few years later, including that of Mr. Vik who built the Look Out Park hotel-motel. Other Czechoslovakian industrialists also settled in Rawdon. They included Mr. Loffelman as well as Mr. Nemec, who built several houses in the village.
