Des Irlandais vaillants et joyeux de nature qui s\u2019\u00e9chinaient sur des terres fertiles.  Pour \u00e9chapper \u00e0 la famine et aux guerres, ces repr\u00e9sentants d\u2019un peuple courageux avaient travers\u00e9 la mer et maintes privations pour s\u2019\u00e9tablir dans un pays inconnu, mais porteur d\u2019espoir.<\/p>

En 1825, le Cur\u00e9 Jean-Marie B\u00e9langer (1788-1856) de Saint-Paul recense 128 Irlandais habitant le territoire du Canton de Rawdon.<\/p>

A worthy successor to Father Par\u00e9, Father Jean-Marie B\u00e9langer (or Joseph-Marie Bellenger) sent a significant letter to Bishop Jean-Jacques Lartigue (1777-1820).<\/p>

Since 1978, the town of Rawdon has been celebrating its Irish ancestors with a parade and various activities.<\/p>

With everyone clad in green and holding a glass, the masses of real or imaginary Irish descendants flood the sidewalks of Queen Street.<\/p>

Born Maewyn Succat in Great Britain, Saint Patrick introduced Christianity to Ireland.<\/p>

Never officially canonized by Rome, he is the patron saint of the Irish, engineers and snake charmers.<\/p>
